Rotaract Club Meeting Week 7 11/12

About Our Club

The University of Oregon Rotaract club was chartered on Jan. 5, 2011.  Since then it has facilitated and participated in numerous projects across the UO community, the Eugene area, and the world.

The University of Oregon Rotaract club aims to:

• Develop professional and leadership skills.
• Emphasize respect for the rights of others, based on recognition of the worth of each individual.
• Recognize, practice, and promote ethical standards as leadership qualities and vocational responsibilities.
• Develop knowledge and understanding of the needs, problems, and opportunities in the community and worldwide.
• Provide opportunities to serve the community and promote international understanding and goodwill toward all people.

The Rotary Connection

Rotaract clubs are part of the larger Rotary International (RI) organization, a global effort to spread goodwill and understanding throughout the world, through service projects ranging from disaster relief to disease prevention to supporting education in third-world countries.  Rotaract clubs are for college students and young community members (18-30).  There are nearly a quarter of a million Rotaractors in over 8000 clubs worldwide.

Former Interactors will find Rotaract very similar in structure and intent.
